The Largest. The Most Brilliant. The Smartest Price.
We don't chase specs — we chase impact. Every stone in our catalogue is hand-selected to look extraordinary at the size that matters, certified to the standard that lasts, and priced for the world as it is today.
Lab-Grown Diamonds Are Real Diamonds.
Not simulants. Not substitutes. The same carbon structure, the same hardness, the same brilliance as a mined stone — except they're grown above ground, not extracted from it. A gemologist can't tell the difference without specialist equipment. Neither can the light.
Every AZENA stone is grown under controlled conditions and certified by IGI or GIA — the same laboratories that grade the world's finest mined diamonds. What you receive is a stone with a full grading report, a laser-inscribed certificate number, and no question marks about its origin.
What sets AZENA apart is how we select. We don't just move certified stones — we curate for visual impact. A diamond with a perfect grading report can still look lifeless on the finger. We choose stones that perform: the proportions that maximise brilliance, the sizes that command presence, the cuts that turn heads before anyone reads a certificate.

Two Methods. One Standard.
Lab-grown diamonds are produced using one of two technologies — both replicating the extreme conditions deep inside the Earth where natural diamonds form. The result is chemically and optically identical to any mined stone.
HPHT — High Pressure, High Temperature
Nature took billions of years and 150 km of depth to make a diamond. HPHT does it in weeks. A small diamond seed is placed in a carbon source and subjected to temperatures exceeding 2,000 °C and pressures above 1.5 million psi — the same forces that built every natural diamond on Earth.
The carbon melts and crystallises around the seed, layer by layer, forming a gem-quality stone. HPHT is particularly effective for producing colourless and near-colourless diamonds with exceptional optical performance. Many of the most visually striking large stones — the kind that look extraordinary before you even read the certificate — are HPHT grown.
CVD — Chemical Vapor Deposition
CVD grows diamonds from gas. A thin diamond seed is placed in a chamber filled with carbon-rich plasma at lower temperatures than HPHT. Carbon atoms detach from the gas and bond to the seed, building the diamond atom by atom in an ultra-controlled environment.
The result: larger rough stones, cleaner internal structures, and fewer inclusions — making CVD the dominant method for Type IIa diamonds, the purest clarity grade in existence, found in less than 2% of mined stones. For high-clarity fine jewellery and melee stones, CVD delivers unmatched consistency at scale.
Lab-Grown vs. Mined: What Actually Differs.
The chemistry is identical. The differences are in the supply chain, the pricing, and what you get for your money. Here's the honest comparison.
| Property | Lab-Grown Diamond | Mined Diamond |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical composition | 100% carbon — identical | 100% carbon |
| Hardness (Mohs) | 10 / 10 | 10 / 10 |
| Brilliance & fire | Identical — same refractive index | Identical |
| Certification | IGI, GIA, HRD, GCAL | IGI, GIA, HRD, GCAL |
| Supply chain transparency | Full traceability — seed to polish | Partial — varies by producer |
| Price per carat | Up to 70–80% lower for same grade | High — scarcity-priced |
| Purity grade | Majority Type IIa — the highest grade | Type IIa in <2% of stones |
| Environmental footprint | Significantly lower, especially solar-powered | Mining: land disruption, high energy |
| Resale market | Developing — not yet established | Low — most mined diamonds lose value at retail |

Transparency Isn't a Feature. It's the Foundation.
Today's buyers want to know exactly where their diamonds come from — and they should. Lab-grown diamonds make that easy.
Every AZENA stone carries a fully verifiable certificate of origin. No middlemen. No conflict risk. No ethical grey zones. Just a diamond grown in a controlled facility, cut by experts, and delivered with complete documentation.
Our production partners operate ERP-controlled facilities — many powered by solar energy — giving us full traceability from seed crystal to finished stone, and a measurably lower carbon footprint than any mined alternative.

Eight Myths. Eight Facts.
Lab-grown diamonds have attracted more than their share of misconceptions. Here's what's true, what isn't, and why it matters.
Lab-grown diamonds aren't real.
Same carbon structure. Same hardness (10/10 Mohs). Same optical performance. The only difference is where the growth happened — not what grew.
They're not as pure as mined stones.
The majority of lab-grown diamonds are Type IIa — the highest purity grade in existence, found in fewer than 2% of mined diamonds. Lab stones are often purer.
Low price means low quality.
The savings come from supply chain efficiency — not from cutting corners on the stone. Producing a gem-quality lab diamond still requires advanced technology, weeks of growth time, and precision engineering.
You can't trace where they come from.
Lab-grown diamonds offer the most transparent supply chain in the industry — full traceability from seed crystal to grading certificate, with no mining intermediaries involved.
They go cloudy over time.
Real diamonds don't cloud — lab or mined. Diamond is the hardest material on Earth. If it changes appearance over time, it's not a diamond.
Mined diamonds hold their value.
Most mined diamonds lose a significant portion of their retail value the moment they leave the store. The idea of diamond-as-investment applies to rare collector stones — not standard retail grades.
Lab diamonds are mass-produced and generic.
Every stone still grows individually. Quality varies enormously. AZENA selects for visual impact — the proportions, cut, and size that deliver presence on the finger, not just numbers on a report.
Natural diamonds are rare.
Hundreds of millions of carats are mined every year. Scarcity is a carefully constructed narrative — not a geological fact. Lab-grown diamonds simply make the honest economics visible.
